These are the terms I work to. They’re written plainly on purpose — if anything here isn’t clear, ask me before you book.
Everything is made to order
Nothing I sell is off a shelf. Each piece is designed and hand-painted for one occasion, which is what makes the terms below necessary.
Prices and quotes
The prices on this site are a starting point unless stated otherwise — the two mirror prices are complete prices. What a piece finally costs depends on its size, the wording and the amount of detail. I’ll always confirm the figure with you before anything is booked.
Postage isn’t included in any price.
How an order works
- You tell me about your occasion.
- I put together a mock-up.
- We adjust it until it’s right.
- Once you’re happy, I confirm the booking and take a 25% deposit, which secures your date.
- I start work.
You’re never asked to pay before you’ve seen a design. Rush orders are paid in full at booking.
The deposit
The deposit is 25% and non-refundable. Booking your date means setting that time aside and it may mean turning other work away.
Changes once work has started
Changes made after I’ve begun painting may cost extra, because parts of the piece have to be started again. I’ll always tell you what’s involved and agree it with you first — nothing is charged without your say-so.
Timings
Most pieces take 3–4 weeks from the point we approve the design. A rush service is sometimes available at one week for an additional 20%, depending on what’s already booked in. It isn’t guaranteed.
Getting it to you
Mirrors and larger signs are collected from OX10 or delivered by hand within a 20-mile radius. Canvas and welcome signs can be posted. Smaller pieces go by tracked next-day post. Full detail is on Delivery & Lead Times.
Cancellations and returns
Because every piece carries your names, your date or your wording, it can’t be resold. Once work has begun an order can’t be cancelled or returned.
This reflects the position for goods made to your specification or clearly personalised.
If something is damaged in transit
I’ll refund you in full. A hand-painted piece is many hours of work and a remake may not be possible before your event, so the refund is guaranteed and the remake isn’t — though if there’s time, I’ll always try. Glass pieces aren’t posted, so this shouldn’t arise for mirrors or glassware.
If something is wrong with the piece itself
That’s different, and it applies to everything I make, glass included. If the workmanship is faulty, tell me and I’ll put it right. Your statutory rights are not affected by anything on this page.
Designs and photographs
The designs I create and the photographs on this site remain mine. I may photograph a finished piece and share it — if you’d rather I didn’t, just say and I won’t.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
