What happens to your information when you get in touch.

This page explains what I do with your information when you contact me or order a piece. I’m a one-person business — there is no marketing team and no mailing list.

Who I am

The Wright Occasion, handcrafted in Oxfordshire. I trade as The Wright Occasion, at Lamb Cottage, 31 Brook Street, Benson, OX10 6LQ.

You can reach me at hello@thewrightoccasion.co.uk.

What I collect

Only what you send me:

  • If you use the enquiry form — your name, email address, phone number if you give one, and the details of your occasion: date, venue, wording, colour scheme, flowers, and anything else you write.
  • If you email me — whatever is in your message.

That’s all. This website has no accounts, no logins, and takes no payments.

Why I need it

To answer your enquiry, to design and make your piece, and to arrange getting it to you. I can’t do any of that without it.

Who else sees it

As few people as possible:

  • FormSubmit — passes what you send through the enquiry form to my email inbox. See The enquiry form below. If you would rather not use the form, email me instead and nobody else is involved.
  • My email is routed through Cloudflare to my mailbox, so it passes through their systems in transit.
  • If you order through Etsy instead, Etsy handles that order under their own privacy policy.

I don’t sell your details, and I don’t pass them to anyone for marketing.

Other companies

This website loads everything it needs — including its typefaces — from its own server. Your browser doesn’t contact any other company when you visit, so nobody else is told that you were here.

The enquiry form

When you submit the enquiry form, your details are sent to me using FormSubmit, a third-party service that passes the submission to my email inbox. FormSubmit states that it does not permanently store submissions once they’ve been delivered. I have not been able to independently confirm where FormSubmit’s servers are located, and this will be reviewed as part of the legal check on this policy before the form goes live.

Cookies

This website sets no cookies at all. There is no analytics, no tracking, no advertising, and nothing stored on your device. That’s why you haven’t been asked to accept anything.

How long I keep it

Enquiries that don’t become orders are deleted after 12 months. Records of completed orders are kept longer, because I need them for my accounts.

Your rights

You can ask me what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Email me and I’ll sort it out.

If you think I’ve handled your information badly, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
